scope
This premium joint sealing tape has proven itself in the driving rain-resistant and vapor-permeable sealing of joints and connections in building construction since 1965. It offers high movement reserves and can reliably seal facade joints up to 40 mm in diameter with weather resistance – this is what "illmod Protection" stands for.

Preparation
- For installation you will need a tape measure, spatula, scissors, knife and possibly wooden wedges.
- At temperatures above 20°C, the tape must be stored in a cool place, even on the construction site. At temperatures below 8°C, the tape should be kept at room temperature, even on the construction site. High temperatures accelerate the expansion process, while low temperatures slow it down.
- Roughly clean the wall reveal of construction dirt and mortar residue. In the waterproofing area, the brick joints should be leveled with mortar.
- Clean the side of the frame
- In wide facade joints with highly absorbent substrates, it is recommended to hydrophobize the joint flanks before installing TP600.
processing
- The planning of the joint dimensions must be carried out in accordance with the specifications of the RAL installation guideline and the general technical guidelines.
- Select the tape dimensions according to the table. Cut off the overcompressed beginning and end sections. When cutting the tape, add at least 2 cm/m. For vertical joints, start laying at the bottom. The tape ends are butted.
- The tape must be stuck to suitable adhesive surfaces.
- The joint flanks should be parallel (max. 3° deviation). For technical reasons, the tape should be installed at least 2 mm inward from the front edge of the joint flank.
- Wet joints can neutralize the self-adhesive bonding that serves as an installation aid. In this case, TP600 can be secured with wedges until the joints have set (Figure 2).
- When processing with paints, coatings, sealants or natural stones, please inquire about compatibility.
- Do not guide the TP600 around the frame corner, but butt it (Figures 1 and 3). Ensure the flush transition of the cross joint between the vertical and horizontal joint tape (Figure 4).
- When assembling prefabricated parts, spacers must be used to prevent overcompression of the illmod band.
- The self-adhesive should be placed downwards when laying horizontally.
